I read a great many websites, some about technology, some that are funny.. sometimes I post what I find here..
I thought I’d share with you how I do it.. and if your a geek.. you probably already know all about the love of Google Reader and RSS Feeds.
An RSS feed is a specially formated page written to syndicate out the content of a site.. if you see something like what you see below:
The Orange Icon indicates that your browser has detected the availability of an RSS Feed..
Not all feeds are created equal, and some pages may have more than one type and more than one feed..
To use the rss feed in a Feed Reader (I use Google, others you can use like Outlook or Thunderbird) click on the Orange icon and the page it will take you to is the feed address, adding that address to your reader will show you the feed.
Why is this helpful?
I read about 50 websites, I don’t have alot of time to pull every page and I might forget a site or two.. a reader shows me what has been posted to them since I opened it last. If you start using it you will not go back to the old way.
I heart me some google reader..
